The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has officially released the recruitment notification for the post of Assistant Teacher in primary schools. A total of 13,421 vacancies are available for WB Primary Teacher Recruitment in Government Aided/Sponsored Primary and Junior Basic Schools across the state.

Essential Qualification WB Primary Teacher Recruitment

Candidates must have one of the following:

• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed
• Higher Secondary with 45% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE)
• Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed
• Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
• Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed

Additional Requirement:

• Valid Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) passed from WBBPE.

WB Primary Teacher Recruitment Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years
• Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Para Teachers.

Salary details WB Primary Teacher Recruitment

Selected candidates will receive a salary as per the West Bengal government pay scale designated for primary school teachers. The pay includes basic salary along with applicable allowances as per government norms.

The merit list will be prepared based on a total of 50 marks. The breakdown of the marks is as follows: Selection of WBBPE Primary Teacher will be based on the following criteria:
