For most Technician Grade III posts, the basic requirement is 10th Grade (Matriculation/SSLC) plus an ITI Certificate or a completed Act Apprenticeship in the specified trade from an NCVT/SCVT institution.

• Technician Grade I SignalA) Bachelor of Science Degree in:- Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation.B) Or, a three-year Diploma in Engineering in the above streams.C) Or, a Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams.
• Technician Grade III (S & T)A) 10th Grade plus ITI Certificate in specific trades:- Electronics Mechanic / Electrician / Wireman.B) Or, 12th Grade with Physics and Maths.
• Technician Grade III – Electrical and Allied TradesApplies to posts like Electrical, TRS, TRD, EMU, GS, etc.- Requires ITI in trades like Electrician, Wireman, or Electronics Mechanic.
• Technician Grade III – Mechanical and Allied TradesApplies to posts like Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Diesel, etc.- Requires ITI in trades like Fitter, Welder, Machinist, or Turner.
