• Candidates must possess a Degree in Nursing or Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or an equivalent qualification.

The selection will be made purely on a merit basis, calculated using the following criteria:

1. Academic Marks (100 marks total)
   • 50% weightage to Higher Secondary (10+2) marks
   • 50% weightage to Degree/Diploma (Nursing) marks
   • A deduction of 5% for every additional attempt made to pass the exam
2. Employment Exchange Seniority (Maximum 15 marks)
   • 1.5 marks for every completed year of registration at the Employment Exchange, Puducherry
3. COVID Duty Incentive (2 to 5 marks)
   • Candidates who served in government institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic may receive additional marks based on service duration.

In case of a tie, the following rules will apply:

• Older candidate will be given preference.
• If still tied, the alphabetical order of names will be considered.

Selected candidates will be placed on a two-year probation period.
